Numbered Tag

Hello Forum,

I found this tag at a city sidewalk replacement site. It's not super exciting, but it's left me wondering if it could have been the city's way of inventorying tools that were taken out on loan and intended to be replaced back into inventory. Maybe a city worker dropped this? Has anyone else found anything like this one?

Tool check out is just as good an idea as any, I've found a few tags with numbers that could be used for any number of things, congrats on your find
