It was another good day at the foundation that I found the 180? Large cent the other day. The star find of the day is a New York Militia button from the 1855 era. Based on Tice it is a type NY220AA1. I found that and the 1889 Indian in almost the same hole. I also found an interesting badge of some sort marked Departure. Not exactly sure what that thing is, any ideas? I love the fish hook looking thing made out of the a square nail. The other interesting find of the day was the gold plated outer ring to a pocket watch.
The temps weren't as bad today and the bugs were not as hungry for me so I was able to cover new ground and some other locations I had lightly hit the other day.
All of these finds were recovered with the 6 inch coil.

Would love to find one ny button , but I am sure there all under houses here I am in NYC .

Great finds! I've found two of those pocket watch rings like the one you found. I am curious why they are so common and how they got reduced to just the outer ring???

Nice finds (and the way you document them) GKman. Thanks for sharing...
