I found this down by the bay. Its made of cast iron or steel. Its bigger than any I've seen. Is there any way to tell how old this is? Thank you.

Might be made by Wilcox, if they look like that.

You might try cleaning it up, especially where the "U" is attached to the shaft. There might be markings there.
