Hey Fanatic! Just got back from OC yesterday. Tried out my new Ace 250 around 45th St. The weather was a surprise, almost 60 degrees! I have never seen the tide so low before, and was able to stay dry below the rocks! Didn't find much, but was only working it for short time and I'm still new at this. I did recover someone's car/house keys, about 8 inches down. This was up close to the dune. I think there is much potential, even at this time of year. Since my plan is to be in OC for the New Year, let me know if you want to get together to hunt, compare notes, etc.

Have a great Christmas,
Vigilant

I hunted OC in Augest and thought it was a waste. I would not drive 6 hours to go to OC. I would drive a little further north and hit wildwood. Thats a beach where you can have a great hunt

i been to OC, and every trip was a waste, for finds,

Thanx for the advice everyone. Sounds like I should consider going somewhere else with my long drive. How about more opinions and information on Wildwood?

I went to OC a couple years ago in the winter. I found zilch on the beach.
I ended up hunting a section of land that had its parking lot removed for rehab, and found a Mercury dime and a whatie.
But the beach was a total loss.
I do not think it is worth a 7 hour drive.

ocean city is good for the usual summertime jewelry that you can find at any beach. in the winter however, pickins will probably be slim.anything really old is probably 50 feet under the sand and so corroded it wouldnt matter.it may be worth the trip after a storm though. no telling what might turn up.as far as driving a long distance........i would probably go somewhere else.

I'm in central NY - newbie - partner has never md'd so i figured the beach was the best place to start. any suggestions? I'm six hours from anywhere
