Went for a quick look around the yard after a storm blew through. Found this. I’d normally call it a waste flake, like a small core, which I’ve found before. But what is odd is all the flaking on the bit that is usually flat. There’s no fine edge work. I’m Trying to sort it out, what were they going for with this, any opinions are welcome.

I just found something similar. (no picture yet) Notice the peak in the first picture that has 4 sides to it. And the backside has that chatter on it. I would like some flint knappers to chime in on what happened.
 

That’s interesting you found one too, seems like it’s either a tool or a leftover from a specific knapping process/technique.
