So I found this weird clasp looking thing. I haven't gotten it tested yet but this sucker is heavy. I found it in the same spot I found the mother of pearl/gold cufflink.

I really hope it's gold(wishful thinking lol). I have a sneaking suspicion that it is brass. At least that's what my gut is telling me. It does look somewhat ornate

Does anybody know what the heck it is? (not what it is made out of) it looks like there is/was some sort of makers mark on the back but I'm going to have to look at it with a magnifying glass to see anything.

The object is not that illustrious in person. Its bright gold in color

One of my friends suggested that it might be a shoebuckle. That seems to fit better than anything else I have thought of.
 

Reminds me of a shoe buckle also but I don't really have a clue. Good luck on the ID! :icon_thumleft:
