odd iron laden ?

Was out hunting in a field and walked by this odd ball. I stopped picked it up and thought concrete and dropped it. I started thinking about the iron deposits and walked back and lugged it around until I got back to the truck. I originally thought the holes were where stones were lodged but under a closer look noticed no sand or stones created the holes and it is very heavy and laden with iron. Any thoughts as to what this is? Art

Yes it does at that. The base is less pocketed almost a solid flecked with iron throughout.
