In order to avoid irritating the nice folks here with many off-topic posts on such subjects as Bigfoot, ghosts, UFOs, guns, etc I decided to set up a little forum where such off-topic posts would be the norm. Treasure hunting is also welcome, but (except for porn or illegal material) there is no such thing as an off-topic there. The link is:

I prospected in the Oroblanco mountains south of Tucson and just north of the Mexican Border.
I have read posting that have said there is no such thing as White Gold.
This is BS because I have not only seen it but have panned a few nuggets of this stuff.

Hi Peg Leg!
Yes there IS white gold, and that area you mention is famous for it - that is why they named it "white gold" because the gold from that Oroblanco district runs about 500 fine, being half silver! Wish I still had some to post a photo of, it is really pretty and different, but sold the last of it some time ago. I plan on going back some time and get some just for "show" to keep. That gold district was always my personal favorite for prospecting, hence the "handle" (which was also the least offensive nick-name I have! ) and I use the same nickname online on every site that I visit and use. (Ebay, Yahoo, Cryptomundo, About.com, Moneta-L, Draftsforsale, Gunbroker and many others - if you see "Oroblanco" chances are it is ME. )

Gold is the neatest stuff - people wouldn't believe how many colors it comes in, naturally! Ever see that Black Hills gold, that comes in white, coppery, rose-pink, mint green, and even a sky-blue? I think I have a little vial of it somewhere that we panned out of an un-named gulch in SD, it really does come out of the ground in that rainbow of colors. Dang it now Peg Leg, you have got me to thinking about going back to Oroblanco (AZ) and up to Spotted Tail gulch in Wyoming, that small gulch we had fair luck prospecting in was a side gulch to Spotted Tail and ran across the border into SD. I guess it is a good thing I am so broke all the time, or I would be traipsing all over the country again.....
