Coming from walking distance to one of America's busiest whaling ports until 1849, I can't help but wonder if whale oil passed through this lamp. I like detecting pieces such as this, essential artifacts of life.

I find so many bullets. Metal detectors sniff out lead nearly as well as they do brass cartridges. Often amazed at the number of buried .22 leads the Nox discovers. I do collect many of my bullet finds whereas I photograph my horseshoes and leave them behind. Aside from bullets, I often see lead tire balance weights along old dirt roads.
