Just what I need, another hobby. I live very close to a land crater (Bloody Creek Structure) and was wondering if it would be worthwhile detecting in this area. What would be the best location to start in relation to the crater? Any hints or pointers? I've attached a link for reference.

Anywhere within 1km of the rim should yield at least some debris from the impact, although if the impact occurred during Ice Age, debris could have been carried downhill somewhat. I think you'll just have to search and find out. Pieces could be large or small, so be sure to dig anything that sounds like metal in the area: you never know what kind of meteorite produced this impact structure until after you find some of the material. I wonder too exactly how old the structure is. Finding a piece or pieces of the ejecta from the impact site should provide some information toward answering these quetions.
