Old belt plate?

Hit an area that used to have some houses on it from the early to mid 1900's. Found only one 1942 wheat, a button cover, and what I THINK was a belt buckle. Do I leave it or do something to get the rusty parts off?? HH

To me it looks like a lid to an old cosmetic case or something but I dont see no hinges tho...cool finds indeed

I feel sure it is not a car mirror because of the decoration and size. Perhaps it is the lid off of woman's cigarette case or powder case. I can't see any place that had a hinge, so I am puzzled. Thanks for the input.

It is about the size of a playing card. Did they have engraved flowers on the car mirrors? I certainly don't know much about old cars.

It looks feminine with the flower decoration on it. I vote buckle cover. Good find.

Looks like a lid.. neat find..Maybe ir you soak it in lemon juice for a while it will clean up for you..

Looking at the "Buckle" I'd say it a ladies buckle........jmho....HH
