Old bottles from river

I eyeballed all of these bottles while going down a river in a tube. I need advice for cleaning bottles with lots of build up on the exterior. I also need some help dating the flask looking bottle with the swirls. Thanks for looking!

You can clean the outside with a plastic scouring pad and soap

Thanks bass! I got alot of the build up off with water and paper towel, but I will try your method for the left over build up I can't get off.

Its called a whisk broom flask. about 1885 to 1910. Probable a whisky with paper label. The good ones are imposed or still have the label. 5 to 10 bucks
