You can clean the outside with a plastic scouring pad and soap
 

Thanks bass! I got alot of the build up off with water and paper towel, but I will try your method for the left over build up I can't get off.
 

Its called a whisk broom flask. about 1885 to 1910. Probable a whisky with paper label. The good ones are imposed or still have the label. 5 to 10 bucks
 

Thanks bottles10! I am relatively new to bottle hunting and appreciate the help. I tried looking at the seam and couldn't tell the age.
