I had an uncle that had a train track that had an MRC controller made in 1976ish, so they made controllers of one sort or another for a long time.
That one has two servos in the box, but the box looks to be made to hold up to four servos. My guess would be model planes, and I would suggest checking with a local hobby shop on value. Might get more than one opinion from multiple shops.

Yeah they tend to change frequency standards every so often, so i am afraid no one that flies, in any type of club or competition environment would want it. On the plus side the servos are standardized.
