Found this old fishing reel. I'm surprised how intact it still is. Found this article about it: "Hendryx patents from*1876*and*1888.* The 1876 patent is the most common patent seen on Hendryx reels.* The patent is actually for his riveting technique and was originally used on his brass bird cages."

Reels are meant to withstand water and corrosion. Looks that one was built very well.

That will probably still fish with some TLC.
