I pulled a few keepers out of an old farm field this weekend. Pulled this odd looking tool and have no clue what it is. Any help would appreciated. Thanks

Here is a throw from way out left field...
To me... ehhhh let me start over...
When I was young I saw a set of tools...
They were from a wreck...
I was told they were for "oakum" and "pitch"...
They were made for filliing cracks and gaps in a ship.
They were used constantly with a tar pot ...

So to me ... Looks like a "pitch tool"... Or "pitch knife". but ?

PS> Oh... And I dar say it is "bronze"... not brass... Which "fits" in my Far out guess.

Prolly for sculpting clay and pottery though... would be next guess.

Agree ---- on the farm oakum would have been used in plumbing, and pine tar and oakum was used for packing horses feet, among other uses I don't know about,
