I found this and several coins while I was out today. I could use a little help with a possible id. I found this item in a field in Indiana at 8". The picture is in black and white. I was trying to get more detail. It is made of bronze or copper I believe. Thanks!!

After reveiwing it under a microscope today. The button has a rope edge around the outside edge of the button. In the center of the shield there is a tree with oak leaves or ivey running up each side of the tree. And the lines at the top of the shield look like sun rays shining on the tree. Maybe this can help. I really would like to find out some info. The button is solid with no holes. The size is around 3/4" Thanks for all your help!!! Troy

Hey TK, nice find. I looked in Alberts and it is not an Indian state button, although the state button does have a tree and the sun. They say the one for the indiana territory was similar. Could be. No schools or university had a button like that. Possibly a town or municipality in the area. Anyway, one very cool button...Congrats...Lance

Sorry no info here, but nice find anyway. I hope it's a button worth something.
