Old Button?

Found this old button a few years ago, on property that we once owned in Indiana. Anyone know if it is very old? It is bent, but I have left it that way. Appears to be an eagle sitting on an anchor. Also, found this 1947 medal at the same location. G.A.A.-Girl's Athletic Association?

The button is a U.S. Navy pattern which was introduced sometime around 1850 and remained in use until 1941. Many varieties exist: eagle looking left or right, different styles of wings and anchors, etc. Here a few examples:

Also, found this 1947 medal at the same location. G.A.A.-Girl's Athletic Association?

Must stand for something else— or at least it's not an award of the original Girls Athletic Association (GAA), which was established in 1920, and in 1937 changed its name to the Women's Athletic Association (WAA).
