Hey all,
I dropped my oldest Daughter off at Loyola U. and tried an old church in down town Baltimore.
I definitely felt the area was unsafe but it was early morning and took my chances, besides, I was with my bodyguard son.
The grass was too high and it didn't look like it was cut in a while, if it was, I know there's some really old stuff there.
I'm going back around the end of August if anyone wants to meet me there.
Cheers.

Hi
Yes very old place, it's been hit hard over the years, recently I've seen
Couple people detecting, if u are trying to go back let me know ill
Join you, I live a coupe of blocks away from there.

Thanks for the reply, can you tell me some of the things found there over the years?
I heard signals all over, but the grass was too high and needs to be mowed.
I'll send you my contact info when I get the exact date.
Thanks
Mac

Good Luck! I don't land detect but sure would love to see some Baltimore treasures!! So keep us updated...

Yep, That sure looks familiar. We were there in the mid 1990's, not metal detecting, but privy digging. We probed around out back there where you are in the photo's, and up closer on the side looking for a pit, and had a fellow sort of hanging around checking us out. Eventually he worked his way around behind us then came up on us quickly. It was intense for a moment as we discreetly prepared our shovels and probes for what we thought might be a battle. He then pulled his coat to the side so we could see his pistol and advised he was an off duty officer. We were relieved, and he was too, after we explained what we were up to. After a brief chat he went back to his house nearby for breakfast, and we headed out to pursue another nearby, and more private location to dig.

Wow, that sounds intense.
The sh*t's not worth dying over.

The grass just got mowed this week, I heard stories of silver coins and relics coming out of there.

Mac...did you ever make it back to the church? If so, how did it go?

Anthony

Wear your flak jacket.

I have not gone treasure hunting yet, but am from Montgomery County (now in Laurel). I would love to have someone to teach me the ropes! Especially before I make a big investment in equipment. Would you be able to help me out?
