Exciting start ! The IH is beautiful ...good luck on upcoming hunts there !!

Good start, some silver coins there

very clean coppers there - congrats!

That IH is in great condition!!! I've had one heck of a time getting permission to detect around the old churches in my area. I've asked and asked, but keep getting turned down... One day I suppose I'll get lucky and get permission... Once again, Congrats on that great looking IH... "D"

Nice IH find. Congrats

Churches always seem to be hot spots

Great coins. Yes, old churches are one of my favorites.

How do y'all get permission? Any secret tips or techniques other than straight out asking, because for some reason I'm having one heck of a time getting permission to detect old churches??? :BangHead: "D"

I offered to make a display of any relics I find on the property plus I showed them recent finds from the area

Two good looking cents, congratulations! :icon_thumleft:

Some churches did the "collection" as you left the church on the front stairs - the priest would walk down the aisle and stand out front and shake hands as you left and would have someone with collection plate/basket next to him - I hit an early 1900 one and off the front stairs to the side I found a bunch of V-nickles and early buffalo nickels at an 1800s church I found handful of IH's in same area off granite field stone stairs.

Looks like a good start to me. Church yards are usually a good place to search.
