Old copper coin/Trade token...thoughts?

I am assuming this is some form of trade token made from a Copper. Any thoughts?

My first thought is that's a counterstamped coin of some sort, possibly a large cent or a colonial copper. Looks like the last two letters are TD. Maybe the first letter is an L..............Rich
