Old copper pull tab looking thing not shur about with fancy

Found this alsome relic that looks like a pull tab i doubt it is and wondering what it is found on a new permission old site dating back to late 1700s to 1944, appreciate any help thanks

Not visible, but 'pretty' for the same reason Victoria's Secret is so popular today. Pretty underneath makes a girl feel prettier on the outside... So I'm told...

Dang, it has patent markings on the back, on the crossbar, toward the smaller end... but pretty hard to read.

Almost every suspender buckle I've ever found has a patent date stamped on it. My vote is in for suspender clip
