Old DoC Officer badge and a buckle!!!

Today was a very interesting day, I didn't find anything all morning but then at the last minute I found this department of corrections badge, an old buckle, in an old condom tin. All firsts for me! Does anyone know anything about the bad? I believe it must be Somers Connecticut, as far as I know there's one or two prisons there. I found it in Springfield Massachusetts.

Your badge ranges in date from 1963 -94 when the name changed. The center would likely have the state seal.

Whoa cool! Thanks! Does anyone know anything about the shoe buckle? I feel like itnmust be pretty old but I can't find out how to date them.
