I don't usually post my hunts but thought I would for a change. This property dates back to the 1850's with the newer big home built in the 1890's. I wasn't the first person there as I saw several rough plugs but hit it hard anyway. They left behind a few goodies. This place is so full of trash which makes it the perfect place for the Outlaw.
Spent just over 5 hours so far at this location and got this. I had high hopes of finding older stuff (1800's) but I'm happy with a few coins, especially my 3rd ever Fishscale (1911).

US coins
1942 & 1951 wheat pennies
1967 quarter
1999 quarter
2001 dime

Canadian coins
1903 & 1920 Large cents (my 43rd & 44th LC's ever)
1937, 1942, 1943, 1947, 1949 (2), 1957 pennies
1911 Fishscale 5 cents
1950, 1951, 1962, 1964 nickels
1944, 1956, 1968, 1969 dimes
1918, 1941 quarters

Also a 1976 Montreal Olympic archery coin (collectible, no dollar value)
Best non coin item was a complete cap gun. The fake gold item (3rd pic) is a cheap pendant with 2000 on it. Above it is a horse button in rough shape.
I also got 3 pouches full of trash as I was digging pretty much everything here.

Very nice saves!

Nice finds. Why is it called a fishscale? Gary

Excellent hunting up north. I'll bet there's more!

I'm not sure of the origin but the small 5 cent pieces were called that between 1858-1921. Then in 1922 they were made larger and called nickels.

I believe they are called fish scales because they are about the size of a fish scale but I could be wrong

You are correct sir. It’s called that because of it’s small size, I’ve heard.

Nice assortment of finds. I like the 1918 quarter and the cap gun. Congrats

You certainly are cleaning out that site. Nice saves.

Congrats on a nice variety of finds.
