Went out the other day down south of Orangeburg SC. My wife's grandmothers place along the Edisto river. I had 15 mins.

My son hit the create button sorry. So anyway. I dug a few bits of barb wire and then got the signal for a copper. Out pops a button. I thought dang I hit it with my shovel. Got to the house and washed it. Turns out I didn't hit it. It was gold. So I took it to my friend Grady and he looked at it. There is a 7 and possible a 1 on the front. So we looked it up in his Military button book and there it was 1778. 71st reg 2 battalion they marched from Augusta to Charleston then to Savanna. We r not 100% sure that's that it is but it fits. Thanks for looking. HH WH. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1429886693.512675.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1429886719.800477.webp I'm sorry the pics r not great. Best I could do.
