Nice job I have some colonial utensils I should clean up . You inspired me

I love to bring old stuff like that back to life

They appear to be silver plated but are still cool pieces to have! :icon_thumright:

They looked nothing like they do now before I cleaned them they were black was pretty much a all day project to clean them the way I wanted them to be

Wow, you did a super great job on the cleaning, you could almost use them. lol

Lol my grandmother said she would use them I had to say no to that so much work went into cleaning them and they are in too good of shape to be used

Those utensils were NOT made in 1847, 1847 is when the company was formed so those utensils could have been made anytime after. They say "Nickel Silver", that is just a fancy term for a copper nickel alloy, which nickels are even made of, no silver at all is used to make "Nickel Silver". They look to be silver plated nickel silver. The bubbles on some of them are plating bubbles, there was air under the plating and corrosion did not help. Still, very cool, they look to be early 1900's so they are still very old, you did an incredible job cleaning them. I am not nearly that good.

Coinman123,

I knew they weren't that old just look neat just something to hold on to
