Old Homestead Site with DeArmitt & Friend

Saturday and Sunday Mornings was spent looking for and finding an old homestead site. I had looked for this place 5 years or so ago and missed it by about 50 yards. The best coin was found by our newbie friend, a beautiful 1868 Indianhead. DeArmitt got two Mercs, 1919 and 1927. He Also got a Really cool Marine button. I couldn't find the exact one in Albert's book if anyone has anymore info on it please let us know. Backmark says R W Robinson Extra Rich. Also got a couple of Whats its, A thing I thought might be a lipstick tube but has a hole in the top and maybe ??? an ox horn tip but appears to have wood in it, with a pin through it. I also got a couple of .36 musket balls and some flat buttons. The weather could not have been better. Man I love this time of year !

HH,
BB

Got good detail, should clean up nicely with a little peroxide. :icon_thumright:

Re: Old Homestead Site with DeArmitt & Friend

that truly is one beautiful Indian Head! I love that button with the flowers, too. Yes, it was a perfect day to MD yesterday- we don't get too many like that one!

Re: Old Homestead Site with DeArmitt & Friend

Can anyone more correctly identify the Marine button? There are similar ones in Albert's button book, but none of them have Robinson as the makers mark on the back.

Looks like a good day, guys! :icon_thumright: :hello2:

The only question that begs is how did coin magnet get beat again? :laughing9:

I guess I better not stir it up or he will hammer us the next time out... :o :notworthy:
