i found this at an old mining town next to a bunch of old cigarette/cigar tins and an old sardine can the mine was established in 1900 but work didn't begin on it until 1919 because of problems with the native american tribe in the area. the mine and camp continued to function until about 1935 when it was shut down.........p.s. i know its not a sardine can key and it also has some sort of design or writing on the handle that i cant read but im running it through electrolysis and hope fully ill be able to see it better and post more pics IMG_1652.webpIMG_1653.webpIMG_1654.webpIMG_1666.webpIMG_1667.webpIMG_1647.webp

Howdy panic,

It's a button hook.

PS: I forgot to ask you about that tuning knob looking piece, directly north of it, in the first photo. I can read, "LePage's," and the "R.C. Co." stands for the Russia Cement Co., of Gloucester, Massachusetts, but I cannot read that last word...

image.webpimage.webpMypanicfall, was the town You were referring to Swansea, Arizona? I was recently there and your date description matches the town's history and I also saw a skewed array of discarded tins think he might be the same place.

Question to members, I found this old item at a very secluded ghost town in Arizona. Can anyone identify it? It looks like it may of been broken off and is not the entire tool, but any help would be appreciated.image.webpimage.webp
