I drug out the old Garrett Deepseeker to look in the yard while my wife used the Ace 250. I had been passing a bunch of those deep dollar and iron signals with the Ace. I set out to see what some of them were a while ago. I found what's left of a Hubley tractor and it was about 10" deep. Looks like it has seen it's better days, lol!...I also found a couple of old horse shoes and one of them still had some nails in it. The man that built my house used to deliver mail in a horse and buggy back in the 1920's. I found another piece of a BB gun, a trigger guard, a 22 long shell with a C on it and a few whatszits. This place amazes me almost every time I hunt it. With 2 1/2 acres to hunt it will be a long time before I find most of it. I guess the advantage of using the Deepseeker is there's no screen to tell me what it's made of before I decide to dig it. Have a good one

Cool stuff. I use to think horse shoes were junk. Now I enjoy pulling a decent one from the ground. Use a scraper and wire brush and treat them with some rust treatment and they will look great(dark black with a "plastic" finish).

OH no Hubley has expired???? By the way he's holding his paint job though, he doesn't know he's a goner yet lol.

Nice old finds, the shoes are mule shoes, they are narrower than a horse shoe, We used mules in farming, & logging in years past.

Fossis..................

DANGLANGLEY... cool finds and nice tractor... I keep all, well most, of the horseshoes I dig if they are period to my relic hunts.

At first I wondered if it was a trigger guard, but I think you found part of my Uncle Schmukatelli's glasses!!!
