All,

Not a big typer, so I will keep this short. Some of our overseas friends have asked to see some of my old Japanese coins I have found so here they are, I also put in a huge silver ring I found with a company logo on it, and it is serialized. I have tried to find the company but the language barrier is hard to get past. Trying to get this back to its owner, no luck yet. I have a couple on the next post as well

What a honker the ring is, nice dig. :icon_thumright:

From now on I will allways think of you as "sumo ring" ffordre4. Good find unless swimming :icon_thumleft:.

That is one nice looking ring. I have a ton of Japanese coins from WWII, my father brought them back and they have been sitting in a little box ever since. I'll have to pull them out and look through them. I know they were in excellent condition when I last saw them.

awsome finds , thats a huge ring :icon_thumleft:

Hey Bob, Finally figured out where you had posted your finds. Great looking bunch of coins.
I have found some of all the ones you have found except for those after 1945. The Japanese forced the Koreans to use their coinage when they occupied Korea. So, the Japanese coinage is abundant. (I have found some that I thought had been purposefully defaced, though I could not prove it.) I will try to get some of my Japanese coins on here, once my son gets here, and I can figure out how to post pictures again. (I posted two different bunches of pics, but then didn't do it for so long that I forgot how......guess I'm telling my age.)
Good bunch of finds. Have found a few of the older silver, 10 sen/20 sen, silvers, late 1800's/early 1900s.

Nice collection you have there. I have an interest in Japanese coins as I lived in Japan for nearly 10 years. My wife , as you may have guessed is from Japan as well. Too bad I wasn't into metal detecting then >:( I did manage to find an old Japanese coin in my families yard dating from the early 1800's. I believe it may have been brough back from the war. Nice ring too!! That is rather an interesting one. HH Ron

Nice finds chief, that ring is one big dad!
If you see a guy with a ring finger an inch or two longer than the others, that's your guy. :laughing9:
