Metal Detecting
I found this old key fob today that was very crusty. I found it in a dried up riverbed metal detecting but was able to scrape off crust to uncover some detail.

The top script there is a word that I can't make out then what appears to be " 5 OF DIST. 6"
The center script it has "BELLAIRE 1923"
The center emblem looks like "U.M.W 1898 6 hours"
And the bottom script "25th ANNUAL CONVENTION".
I am going to assume maybe this company having the convention is in Bellaire, Ohio.
Can anyone assist where this fob is from?
Thank you

Don't know, but maybe a United Mine Workers fob

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Hi, nice find. Congrats:icon_thumright:

Nice save in great shape. Congrats

In my research and assistance, it appears to be The United Mine Worker District 6 in Bellaire, Ohio.
They started having conventions in 1898. This was their 25th annual convention.
I believe the top script says something to the effect SUB DISTRICT 5 OF DIST. 6
Maybe some Ohio miners can comment.
There actually is a facebook page Umwa District 31 Sub District 6 in Bellaire Ohio I may reach out to for comment.

I was also going to suggest United Mine Workers. Looks like you found it already. Nice fob.

I agree with Creskol, United Mine Workers watch fob. Nice find.

Nice fob, is it thin enough that the stampings are more legible from the rear, either way, nice save
