I found this ring at a beach that I typically find stuff from the 1900’s, the earliest being a 1916 Merc. At first I thought it was silver but after it dried part of it turned white. Lead is the only metal I know of to turn white. The two with it in my hand are when I first found it. I guess I’m just looking for a confirmation that it is lead or if someone knows what else it could be. Cheap plated ring I would guess but hard to tell without holding it, Is there a D mint mark on your 1916 merc that would be worth aloooooot

It’s 2 grams and so small it won’t fit over my first knuckle of my pinky finger. It feels heavy for its size. The Merc is totally toasted. It’s been in the sand at a salt water beach for maybe 102 years.

Looks like one of the old one size fits all kids ring, maybe Dime Store / Cracker Jack.

If the orange color is rust, the ring is not lead because lead doesn't rust. Salt water can make metal take on various colors.
I like to find jewelry whether it is costume or nice.
