That's cool, something about finding a good target in your own yard makes it better. Old locks are cool too, I like that you can get a date off your nickel, they are notorious for being dateless. Not sure what your mint was, but maybe this link might help you figure a value on your Buffalo.

The lock has seen its better days, I added another pic. The buffalo looks like a P mint mark, but I need someone with better eye sight the check.
