Went out today for a two hour hunt locally. Have permission to hunt a old mansion in the area. Ended up with a 1950 wheat. A 1888 Indian and a interesting little button. I wish I had a better camera to take pics with but I don't. The button appears to still have some gold gilt left on it. Almost looks hand made from the marks on the front of it. Anyway. Here is a look at them for you. Any thoughts on the button?

Awesome find dgrs! I love that town, my girlfriend and I always come up for fall fest with my sister and brother-in-law. Was just up there a month or two ago to hike Glen Onoko, we stayed at the Gilded Cupid B&B, enjoyed a town-wide yard-sale that weekend as well.

I would LOVE to go metal detecting up there but I doubt there are many places to hunt without permission.

Glen Onoko is open to detecting, I believe you do need to call the Park office these days,
to tell them you will be there for detecting.

Nice finds.. Still looking for my first indian.. Congrats on the success..

I've hit the Glenn. I have only found two wheaties there. There use to be a park there in the 1800's. I think it was detected over the years and pretty much cleaned out. I still go there once and awhile. You never know.

dgrs2 , nice looking finds and yes an interesting looking button, looks like the sewing eye is off set. Can not tell much about the Indian, how's he headband condition? And I must ask about the background of the pictures, it reminds me of being in the engine compartment of a vehicle, what is it?

thank you for posting as it gives us shut ins a chance to share in others trips and the pictures are pretty good for not a good camera, they sure add to the hunt!...................63bkpkr

Full liberty on the band. Love to find out if its a 8 over 7 strike on the year. The pic was taken in the back of one of iPhone cases.
