Late 1800s most likely.

I think those are generally attributed to the civil war era

Sweet heel plate! That's definitely a Lone Star!

That version of heelplate (brass, rounded on three sides with the fourth straight OR rounded, a cut-out emblem, and significantly SMALLER than a typical shoe-heel) is from the mid-1860s into the 1880s. It is smaller than a typical shoe heel because it is from a Ladies laceup tall-shoe/boot. The Ladies shoe shown in the photos below was found in an 1880s dump.

I sure miss living in that area........... there was a confederate camp not far south of mesilla...... railroad tracks run real close
