Woke up earlier than normal this morning in order to try and beat the wind. I arrived at a place that I discovered over forty years ago about 10 miles North of town. Local folklore has it that the original adobe building was a home that a woman who made and sold liquid “spirits” before during and after prohibition. I heard that story from a few of the Old Timers in the area in the early 80’s. I visited this site many times during the 80’s as my home was right across the old “original” road....supposedly the Camino Real, although I never verified that. It is located about 400 yards into the desert from the Mesilla Valley floor. I never picked anything up from there until today. There was also another building across a small wash with a concrete pad poured in August 1929 which was the newer building. I think I located the “Privy” for the concrete pad home but was unable to locate one for the original adobe...but there has to be one. Nobody seems to know when the homes were vacated or for what reason but very little remains today. I managed to get in a couple of hours before the wind and blowing dirt drove me off location. Hope you enjoy the pics

That is a nice looking spot, I would hunt that from every direction & with every coil I had. Good luck & hope ya find a bunch.

Amazing lookin place to hunt, one thing I always liked about this hobby...the sometimes fascinating places it takes you to!

definitely a great spot to hunt . . . by the way, what's your partners name?

Is that a cat or dog?

Tina is not a Cat but a DOG! LOL! She is my partner and warns me of approaching individuals or other animals. She is great to have around while I am hunting with headphones and eyes on the ground. Had her for about ten years now. She is an Easy keeper and loyal beyond belief. I hardly ever use a leash as she always is at my heal.....best mutt I have ever had.

Looks like a great spot... Keep us posted on the finds.
