Today I went out to my favourite permission where I've found a lot of old copper coins ranging from 1600s-1900s. The soil was very dry so it was hard to dig and get any deep signals. I really worked hard for the few, but great, finds that I managed to pull up from the dirt. My hunt was cut short as rain and thunder swept in. The 2 skilling courant 1811 from Norway was a big surprise for me. You hardly ever find old norwegian copper coins in Sweden. Even considering Norway and Sweden was in a union 1814-1905 it is still rare (at least for me) to dig old norwegian coppers. Back in 1811 Norway belonged to Denmark, that is why the danish king Fredrik VI's monogram is on the obverse of the coin.
