It's an 1883 CC as evidenced by the packaging and the serial number on the GSA certificate of authenticity (the first two digits are 83). It is one of the more common GSA Carson City Morgans. The GSA released about 63% of the original 1.2 million coin mintage. It's probably worth about $175.

I've got one just like that; plastic CC box and all.  It takes your breath away to look an an uncirculated Morgan, don't it?

Love the morgans!!

Nice pics. I too love Morgans. Need only the 1894 to complete the set.

And there I turn a vivid tone of green with envy... ;D Nice job!!! And ALL the Morgans are beauties, especially the Carson City ones.

I've got 83 but lots of duplicates. I need like 23 years but it's not even a goal.

Dug out my CC in the "box" and mine is an 1884, but the lid of the box has a description of the CC mint and history and the name at the bottom is "Richard M. Nixon" :D :D

Have a full set of Peace dollars in VF or better.

:o :o :o All but an 1894? :o :o :o That's impressive (even if you ignore the proof only 1895

I can't better some of those shiny coins (I do have a MS-67 slabbed 1898 that's drop dead gorgeous). Here's a sweet little cameo.

Real nice example of die clashing on the 1900-O. Mostly on the reverse but a little on the obverse.

Nice coins.

Thanks! Look closer though. There is some nice clashing on the obverse to the right of Liberty's hat and around her nose and lips as well.

I saw the clashing on the obverse below the cap. The opposite of that clash is shown on the right wreath tip. I also see the neck around the "In God" motto. Below is a guide to die clashing. Faintly see the chin and lips on the reverse.
