Old Park Hunt - Found Silver x 2 *Earrings Update*

Decided to hunt an area of the old Lakeview Park today that I've had my eye on for a while. The trees in this area range from 50 - 80 years old and it's pretty far from the soccer fields, so I was hoping the trash would be at a minimum. Well there wasn't much trash, but there sure were a lot of pennies! I might have to change my avatar name to 'Penny Dave' from now on if this keeps up! Found a few older pennies from the 1940's and these were a good 6" down too. I then dug the 1962 Can Silver Dime from about 4" and is it ever groodie!
I might try giving it a hot peroxide bath to see if that helps clean it up.

It was starting to get pretty hot and I was just about ready to knock off for the day when I found the 'Sterling' Silver Earring! The design on it looks pretty old and I've never seen a clasp like this one before!
Any thoughts on age anyone!

Just found this about the earring I found . . .

Vintage Silver Etched 1930's Earrings
These vintage 1930’s sterling silver earrings are engraved with elegant flourishes covering the entire surface. The graceful design of these dainty earrings is accented by a scalloped border. They have a shiny silver patina with some darkening. They are marked, "Sterling, WFS”. They are approximately ¾” long and 1/2” wide, and are screw backs. They were hand etched, formed, and then the back and screws soldered.

Nice Finds!! Your earring is a "screw on". Back in the day people that didn't have there ears pierced could wear earings as well. Great job again!

Hey Doug! I was thinking it was older too, but Beezie thinks it's from the '50's.
I was kinda hoping it was from the '20's or '30's.

It's a beautiful old park Tom, right in my home town too!
The area was originally farmland back in the 1820's and was turned into a city park in 1900.
