Went to a new spot today. Way back in some woods a very old RR bridge still stands. Tracks are gone and road goes far both ways from bridge. All gravel dirt mixed ground. We started hunt around four p.m. and did a little night hunt till sketers bit me enough.
On my way up the path on side of bridge I found some flattened pennies that were laid on tracks. A wheat cent and a strange find.
This coin has what looks to be straight pins stuck through the coin. Two are still there but it seems there were more. Little groves are still in coin where I think they were. If all pins were still there it would make 6 points around coin. If anyone knows what this is please let me in on it lol. I have no clue. Here are some pictures. Enjoy!

Cool finds, All I would guess is that someone felt like the pins were harder than the coin metal and did the train test to find out, Sounds kinda stupid i know .....But it's the only thought that comes to mind....................HH

Yea I thought about that but the coin and pins are not smashed. I was thinking that there was another band around the coin. It may have been jewelry or something and the pins held the outer part of it. ??
