I had a brief hunt today at the elementary school I attended. There has been a school in various forms there for over 100 years. Because the field has been pounded by detectorist for decades I tried a different part of the grounds. I didn't find much other than this old ring.
There is some writing on the back of the band, but I could only make out a couple of the letters. I'm not sure of the material, but I was thinking copper due to the green patina. The weight does seem a little light to be copper though.
Has anyone ever seen a ring of this type? I know there isn't much to go on, but any information would be appreciated.
Thanks!
