old ring civil war bitton?

hello tnet members be awhile had two surgerys on left shoulder last summer and got nerve damage from all that but im right handed and still hunting, so I found this old ring says us service has cannons and rifles crossing on the sides and this button with 12 stars ant ideas ,thanks for any help,,

Definitely not civil war. But they still look fairly old. A picture of the buttons back would help on dating it.

If I understand it correctly between the first and second world wars the Military in the US became known as national service. I found a uniform button with NS on it and this may be from the same era.
