I dug this musket ball yesterday less than a mile from where British general John Burgoyne surrendered to American general Horatio Gates. It has great patina and was three inches deep. I am wondering if the mark on it is a mold mark or from impact. I have other musket balls that are greatly distorted from impact.

Thanks in advance for your opinion.

Looks like an old dropped musket ball to me. Nice piece of old history you have there.:icon_thumright:
