Hit a couple of old properties over the last few days and although I didn't come up with much in coins, I did find a couple of keepers. The first is a silver spoon that probably dates to the 1820-1840 period. It was found on the property of a house built in 1786. Stuck to the grass areas first time as we didn't have a lot of time to hunt. FYI, this property sold a few years ago for $7,650,000 so it's one you want to be super careful when digging. Always like finding old hallmarked silver.

Second house was built in 1765 and again, not much in coins, but a nice old batwing or baldric buckle. I've also included a photo of one I found earlier in the year for size comparison. This was a bit smaller.

Very nice as usual. GL&HH.

Thanks! I like finding old silver as well as interesting buckles.

That silver spoon is great looking, I would still use it to put sugar in my tea.

Nice horse buckle as well.

Beautiful spoon and nice buckles.

Great non coin finds

I think the spoon is amazing ! I also agree with your date estimate - I too would put that spoon back into daily use !!!

Nice finds mister! I really "dig" the spoon lol! Congrats!

Great finds Don! Love the silver spoon. And those batwing buckles are very nice

Thank you for sharing your hunt and those pictures with us

Couple of nice finds, the silver spoon is a cool find, have you tried to link the monogramed initials to any of the previous owners of the property yet?

Nice old brass buckle and of course ANY silver, especially big silver like yours, is always outstanding.

Those are some excellent finds. Love the silver spoon and always love finding the older buckles.
