Started off extremely slow yesterday as I decided to go back to a once productive farm looking, hoping, for “one more” good find. I managed to find a 1941 Wheat Cent with an S mint mark, another rivet to go along with my pile of horseshoes and iron harness rings, a saddle strap guide, some type of long cap that appears to be silver, and then it happened. My decision to return to this farm paid off in the last half hour when a small piece of dark, tarnished silver appeared in the bottom of the clump. I’m not sure if it’s a button or cufflink but it is a very thin piece of silver with a hand etched script M on the face and a bent shank on the reverse. I’ve never dug an oval button before so I was thinking very old cufflink? Any thoughts? I’ve picked coins and buttons in the past from both the 1700’s and 1800’s. Thanks for looking!

Nice find! definitely looks like the outer half of a silver cufflink. Cheers!

Looks more like a cuff link than button to me, but regardless, it's an incredible find- Congrats!!

Cufflink and the long silver thing is a razor handle or some type of handle. At least those are my thoughts without knowing a length.

I am thinking cuff link too. Maybe not as old as the octagonal ones, but still very old. I love the personal touch of the monogram. . Congrats on the super finds.

my vote is cufflink, colonial silver is so nice to display very nice diggin'...the other long cylindrical silver piece maybe part of a mechanical pencil from victorian period but not sure

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Really nice hunt. Getting a silver link is a top shelf recovery. Congrats

Like others have stated a cufflink (sleeve button as reference sites call them)
Later Victorian style as the example shows the same style.
