Old stamp-First Alabama

I realize this is an old hand stamp,but does anyone know what "First division,Alabama,2d Coll.Dist." pertains to.I found this stamp while metal an old yard in Anniston,Al.

I did several searches and didn't find anything conclusive but there seemed to be a lot of court/law references to my search.

May be a court room stamp. Take it to the local court house and ask.

Because the letters are cut in, I would guess that this is a 'seal' used with hot wax to seal documents, letters.. etc.. I get call for them in once in a while (I cut stamps from rubber, wood, and plastic on a laser) .. Now, there usually only used by crafts people, and of course yuppies trying to make an impression.. no pun intended.. This one looks like a genuine 'old' wax seal impression maker with the handle missing..
