Old Town Site?

I was looking at Google Earth and Flash Earth and found this plot that, to me, looks like an old town plot about 10 miles north east of Post. How would I go about finding out what it is? Any ideas or thoughts would be great.
Here is the location:
Lat: 33º 17' 32.2" N Long: 101º 17' 37.5" W

Very strange...it is 1300' x 1600' or almost 48 acres. We have areas like that down here but the roads are still there. They were old oilfield company town sites. Looks like a fun research or road trip!

It sorta looks like the makings of a subdivision where the lot grading was completed but the actual development never materialized for some reason.
