Old Villa and new Land

I was out the last two afternoons. Yesterday on a well hunted roman villa site. Maybe a deep plow will bring some stuff up again, by now it's not worth detecting. Only one scrappy, a gaming piece and the bowl of a lead spoon turned up, but loads of decorated pottery and wall tiles show how wealthy this homestead once was.

Today i went to a field where some cropmarks looked promising. Unfortunately to field was planted so i just drove by. At the next corner of the gravel road i noticed red shards in a field. A quick walk and roman was confirmed. The main site looks like it is in the next (planted) field, but i got some finds.

Bummer of the day first, no Gold today and no tiny hammered.....

Looks like a Medieval Coin weight in your Roman Finds picture (square one). Well, sounds like you have somewhere promising to hunt, wish we did....

Looks like but there is absolute nothing on it, thats why i assumed game piece.
I checked again on the maps and the main site must be in the next field. This is just some roof tiles, a bit lead, very little pottery. A shed, fountain house maybe? The farmer is not happy about detecting in his winter wheat, so i have to wait till harvest like you have.... I hope for the best. I will check in the archie maps too.

Thanks Pepperj! That's the spoon bowl with a shell pattern. It's about 1/2" diameter.
