Look's like a 1700's spur buckle! What part of the country was it found?
 

Near the Hudson river in NY. It appears to be a double looped trapezoidal buckle dating 1620 to 1680.

Nice find. Great age and patina on that buckle. Must have had an iron tongue on it judging by the rust pattern.
Nice looking weight. Never come across one myself.
