It's in great shape!

Creek bed in a park! Very interesting. I think I would spend plenty of time there if I were you, especially if there are any footbridges crossing it (just thinking of the wishing well scenario here).

Good luck!............HH

Wow, not to bad for your third wheat find. That is one special coin. Congrats, next one you find might be a 1909 S VDB. Keep hunting they are out there. I haven't found one yet, but I'm still looking just like you and I've been hunting over 23 years.

By the way I just dug a 1909 this week and like yours it didn't have a S or VDB on it. Darn!!

Here is something to think about. I was talking to my 86 year old Grandmother the other day about what you could buy for a penny when she was 5 years old in 1926. She said whenever she would get a penny she would go down and buy a box of chocolate covered raisins. I asked here what she bought with a nickel and she said "Oh...........we never got Nickels.....that was a lot of money." She said a Nickel would buy you soup and a sandwitch back then. So when you find an old Wheat cent just think of a little girl in the Mountains of Virginia running to get her some Chocolate covered raisins.

Wow an 09 I have never gotten one yet but my blood would have been pumpin big time
Congrats

Looks like you were close.
Well always be chasing the elusive key dates...who knows maybe someone like you will be the next person to find one.
Good hunting and Nice catch!

OK it not an S mint but you found the oldest Lincoln cent one can find and it's still in great shape! That is a keeper! WTG!!!
