Found an old homesite about 3 miles from me that had a home in 1952, possibly earlier. Swingin the Simplex here today and kinda bummed cause headphone volume dropped off and weak signals almost inaudible. I was gonna pack it up so I decided to swing on the way back to my truck. Got a solid signal with 68-70 ID#. About 4-5" deep, I was shocked to find this IH! Only found a zinc penny and mucho trash up to that point so I figured another zincoln. Very good condition. 1907, my oldest so far!

Congratulations on the IH !!! I am sorry to hear that you had a problem with the headphones. I have only had one problem with mine and they just lost connection. Turned them off and back reconnected them and all okay. Hasn't happened since. Were they fully charged up prior to your hunt?

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Way to stick to it through the difficulties and Congrats for nabbing that Indian!

Nice! That's a purty one! I honestly don't even use headphones with the Simplex most of the time, I just turn the volume down.

Glad you were able to salvage your hunt with a very nice Indian head...maybe some silver lurking around there as well :)

Thanks! I'm using Garrett wired headphones, but I figured out the problem. The TRS terminals in the 1/4" female jack were not making good contact. I used a jeweler's screwdriver and pried them out a bit. Works great now!

I keep hoping so! Finding the old wheats and a V nickel and now this IH, gotta be some silver soon.

Yeah, that speaker is loud as hell! I focus better with headphones though and it was super loud at L3. Last 2 hunts I had it at H4 and it was very quiet. Fixed it though.

My speaker on my new 800 is quiet. I adjusted the volume up but that made the pitch change to the point it sounded strange. Still trying to figure it out. Gary

Yet another OTWBTTC story! Congrats

A milestone - congrats on your oldest Cent !
